R.A.F. Rescue Axe

Emergency axe for gliders, used to allow the aircraft to be released in the event of a crash.

It was also used in other aircraft such as the C-47, B-17, ….

Its rubber handle is insulated up to 20000 volts.

Reputedly found in the Nijmegen area of Holland

Markings on the Axe:  Broaded Arrow and some undefined markings.
